out fo the two works you posted to me, this was by far the better one. the attention to detail of things like the scales, all the small numerous scales, is rather well done,
i particularly love the eye and the skin detail around it. quite spot on.
the only thing i would have to say is tones and shading. some of the lines and such couldve stood to be a bit heavier, some couldve been a bit more defined. and some areas of the skin couldve been a bit more darker incomparison to the lighter patches on such a animal.
but overall a nicely executed piece.
What do you think?

well I do look at him everyday :)
He has grown so much since I painted this that he almost doesn't look like the same iguana lol

ah yeah, I've never had a reptile, just my cat, lol
and it's hard fir me to draw him as he is completely white

oh yeah..you would have to get some dramatic lighting going on just to be able to get some shading in there lol

The thick black outline contrasts the highly detailed and realistic rendition of the iguana. It makes it look comic-y.

This always gets declined from groups bc they think it's not a painting. It's so irritating lol. My little Felix doesn't even look like that anymore he's growing sooo fast.

That sucks they decline it, because it is such a nice piece. And as realistic as it is, if you really look at it, you can tell it's a painting. I don't think cameras can make stuff have 'paint on canvas' texture lol

One thing that my boyfriend does is he waits for a nice day and takes a picture of the painting outside. Natural lighting makes the photo really crisp and clear, so the painting looks really nice, sort of like it was scanned.

The attention to detail in this is insane 0.o

To improve (imo): I don't really like the outline. I think you maybe chose to do this to make it stand out? Instead I would have just made some of the shadows nearer the edges of it darker.

But generally this is amazing 0.o

i have very few criticisms for this piece. it's obviously very well drafted with extreme attention to detail. with that said here are the issues i have with it: i'm not a huge fan of the outline. i might try varying the weight of the line if you did want an outline.
i might have put darkened the lines selectively around some of the scales, like just in the corner of one, or on a concave part of another. i also feel like good effect could be gained from darkening the iris.
with that said, those are very minor things and this is a very, very nice painting. amazing! great job.
